Kids, Teens, and Families

St. Ann’s is a caring, supportive place for all families, chosen and biological, to learn about and experience God’s grace and loving-kindness through mutual relationships, fun and curiosity, and exploring stories of faith.

Although we are a small church, St. Ann’s is home to a vibrant and close-knit group of families. We pride ourselves on fostering intergenerational relationships and a sense of belonging no matter what the rest of the world might make us feel like.

St. Ann’s does not “wall off” its children and youth from the rest of the church; its children and youth actively participate in the full life of the congregation.

Our Current Age Groups for Sunday School

  • Nursery

Nursery care is available for children 6 weeks old to 6 years old each Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Through safe and loving relationships, play, and storytelling, our littles experience God’s love together. It is here that children begin to learn that church is a safe, welcoming, and fun place!

  • Pre-K through Kindergarten

In our preschool class, children play games, make crafts, and explore picture book versions of common Bible stories. Our teachers aim to welcome our preschoolers with a fun introduction to the language and concepts of faith rooted in the traditions of the Episcopal Church.

  • First Grade through Fifth Grade

The elementary class explores faith and the Bible through art, stories, games, and relationship-building. Teachers recognize the importance of helping students discover and express their God-given gifts. Creating a joy-filled hour where students (and teachers) can grow and learn how to serve God and God’s people is such an important part of St. Ann’s mission!

  • Youth Group

Students in middle school and high school build upon their lectionary-based knowledge from earlier years, now learning about church history, the Book of Common Prayer, and how church and faith intersect in their daily lives. Depending on the students' ages, a confirmation class may be offered. An important element of this class involves connecting God’s love to social justice issues. “I really appreciate how my Sunday School teachers tie religion to current events,” said one teen parishioner. They are very creative!”
